Installation date: 02 October 2018. Production period: 03 October 2018 at sunrise, in summertime (UTC+2) till 02 October 2020 at sunset, in summertime (UTC+2). NOTE: The production of the 10 panels, 380V DC, each panel 1.00m wide and 1.65m high. The delivery into 220-230V AC is about 70% of the daily production in 380V DC. This has the following reasons:

[1] The house is not exactly built East – West, but about North-East – South-West. That implies, that the production starts in the morning at sunrise, but ends in the late afternoon. This reduces the power by about 12%.

[2] The house is surrounded by trees. This reduces the power by another 3%.

[3] The conversion process from 380V DC into 220-230V AC by the solar installation inside the house (WiFi connection and connection to the electricity meter with 4 different meters, which send the daily consumption and back delivery at midnight to the power supplier). This takes about 12%.

[4] During these past two years, there was a lot of trouble with the installated panels: the cables for the transportation of the 380V DC were supposed to go from panel to panel free in the air. However as there were very long periods that there was no production at all, I called the company that installed the solar panels. A senior engineer could see at his computer what was wrong. There were two rainy periods: January – April 2019 and September – November 2019. He came over, and saw, that the cables were on the roof, in puddles of water. He connected them in the right way, and since his visit we have had no problems any more. 03 Oct. 2018 – 02 Oct. 2019 = 365 days, 03 Oct. 2019 – 02 Oct. 2020 = 366 days, a total of 731 days. But the installation was only working 658 days, a difference of 73 days. The solar company gives figures what your figures, as in top of this post, should be. I have to make a correction of that figures by factor 658/731, due to the period that the panels were not in use.

Solar revenue 380V DC: 2 x 2,196kW = 4,392kW  x 658/731 =  3,953kW; Solar revenue real time 5,682kW; Difference + 1,729kW. Earnings: 2 x € 439.21 = € 878.42 x 658/731 = €    790.70; Earnings real time  € 1.069.31; Difference + €     278.61. Reduction CO2 emission: 2 x 1,155Kg = 2.310Kg  x 658/731 =  2,079Kg; Reduction CO2 emission real time 2,223Kg; Difference  + 144Kg

The blue margins represent the power that you took from the provider; the green margin represents the power that you delivered back to the provider. In this case: consumption 6.43kWh, delivered back 9.77kWh. We earned 3.34 kWh. At a rate per kWh of €  0.207515 that is € 0.69.

Total costs of the installation (10 solar panels, each 1.65m x 1.00m), incl. VAT: € 4,814.98. We got back from the Government the VAT: € 775.66. From the remaining amount (€ 4,039.32) we earned back over the past two years already: € 1,069.31 that is 26.47%.

2017/03/02 – And… a very nice wish from the Gelderland Orchestra


After World War II founded in 1949 the Gelderland Philharmonic Orchestra, which not only Arnhem, but did serve the entire province of Gelderland. The orchestra was successively headed by directors Jan Out, Carl von Garaguly, Leo Driehuis, Yoav Talmi, Roberto Benzi (1989-1998) and Lawrence Renes (1998-2002). A special project was in the nineties, the recording of the complete orchestral works of Igor Markevitch with conductor Christopher Lyndon-Gee on seven CDs. From 2003 to 2009, the orchestra has developed further under the leadership of artistic director and chief conductor Martin Sieghart. He made the orchestra include recordings of works by Gustav Mahler, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms. Also it came to performances in the Wiener Musikverein. The permanent guest conductor Nikolai Alexeev, the Russian since 2002. Under his leadership played a lot of music by Russian composers. Alexeev in 2004 was musical director of the Stravinsky Festival in Arnhem. Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi is as permanent conductor of the Gelderland Philharmonic Orchestra. Under his leadership, the orchestra made very successful tours in 2007 and 2009 by his native Japan. Sieghart has the title of honorary guest conductor. From August 1, 2011 is the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra under the artistic direction of Italian chief conductor Antonello Manacorda. The orchestra has also had other famous conductors, among others were Bernard Klee, Jaap van Zweden and Roy Goodman as a conductor for the orchestra. The permanent concert hall of the orchestra is Musis Sacrum in Arnhem. In addition, frequently occurred in other Gelderland concert halls, such as the Vereeniging in Nijmegen and Orpheus in Apeldoorn.
