0488 – Holiday travel

As in 2011 (see the video at bottom of this post), we shall fly from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Madrid Barajas Airport, pick up our hired car (Volkswagen Polo), and travel for eleven days in the Western and Southern part of Spain. The hotels are all pre-booked. And that for the price of €790 / £698 / CA$1,214 p.p., that is €72 / £64 / CA$110 per day, including return flight Amsterdam – Madrid (Economy class), 10 hotel nights in a double room with bath/shower, including breakfast and car hire!

Schiphol: many flights delayed by computer failure

air2Many departing and arriving flights at Schiphol were delayed this morning by a system failure in the flight control center. It is not known how long the outage will last. According to Schiphol operates air traffic Netherlands currently hard to find a solution.Schiphol advises travelers to check their flight information via Schiphol.nl, Schiphol app or through the airline’s website which they fly.
